You’re lying on a beautiful beach in the glorious sunshine. The turquoise sea laps against the white sand. Your partner is sunbathing beside you. Life is good. Don’t you just love beach vacations? Two wonderful weeks of no work, stunning weather, and outstanding views. But after a couple of days, you’re a little restless. The beach is great, but you’re not used to sitting still for so long. What else can you do during your sunshine vacation?
- Book A Tour
Make the most of the locality by taking a tour. Guided tours like the Airlie Beach tours will help you get to know the area. Enjoy boat trips or wildlife experiences, etc. Your guide will be able to provide you with lots of insider knowledge. You can experience everything the area has to offer from a local’s point of view.
- Go Sailing
One of the advantages of your beach vacation is the ocean. But instead of just appreciating it from the shore, book a sailing trip. Many trips begin early in the morning and so make sure you’re up on time. Take lots of sunscreen, a hat, and loose clothing. There is no hiding from the sun when you’re out on the water.
- Talk To The Locals
When you’re away, try to talk to the locals. They have the best knowledge of the area and can advise on eateries and activities. Forget the tourist trail and make like a local instead.
- Take Public Transport
During your vacation, use public transport. This will immerse you in the local culture. You are also likely to see areas that you wouldn’t normally experience.
- Take Up A Sport
If you’re active and enjoy sports, find out exactly what is on offer. Beach resorts provide a wide range of sports and activities, from golf, to hand gliding. Find a few activities that appeal and give them a go.
- Visit A Water Park
Water Parks are always fun, and kids love them. Take a break from the beach and spend the day enjoying the thrills of the water slides.
- Go For A Walk
Make the most of the beautiful scenery by going for a long walk. Plan your route carefully in advance so you know exactly where you’re heading. Pack plenty of sunblock and wear some sensible shoes. If you’re planning on a long walk, break this up with regular stops. Find somewhere new to go for lunch and pop into a couple of bars along the way. Take plenty of water with you.
- Go Shopping
It’s fun to hit the shops in a new town or city. Spend a few hours wandering around and appreciate the range of boutiques. Look out for local crafts and handmade items. Pick up some gifts and souvenirs. Break it up with a cool drink at a local cafe.
- Eat The Local Specialties
Find out what the area is famous for, in terms of its cuisine. Go out of your comfort zone and try something completely different.
- Be Spontaneous
Forget planning and schedules. Get up one morning and do something totally unplanned. Have fun and see where the day takes you.
