It shouldn’t be a huge surprise that more and more individuals are traveling to Canada. With the beautiful national parks and the amazing sights, why wouldn’t anyone want to strap on a backpack and venture out into the great outdoors of Canada? That being said, traveling to the country might not be as safe or as easy as it seems. Know The Weather And What To Wear 

You would truly be surprised at how the temperature and climates change all across Canada. This is why it is imperative to know the weather and climate before venturing into any part. Wherever you are traveling it is always a good idea to have several essential winter items, like good quality snow boots, thick, wool accessories, and a waterproof jacket. Make Sure You Can Get Admitted 

While it might seem like an easy task to get inside the country of Canada, you would be sorely mistaken. Sure, the country is very accepting of outsiders and tourists, but you have to acquire the proper documentation in order to do so. You can begin the process by visiting filling out an ESTA application. This is a ninety-day electronic vista that works extremely similar to that of a regular visa. However, it is only good for two years and automatically becomes useless and obsolete when you acquire an actual visa. The process is fairly straightforward and fairly fast, but it is best to begin the process at least two weeks before you plan embarking on your venture. 

Know How To Avoid Petty Crime 

Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter where you are traveling to; you are always at risk of being exposed to petty crime. This is especially true in much larger cities. Thieves and petty vandals like to target tourists and vacationers, as they view them as vulnerable. Leave your passports and most of your value in your hotel safe to avoid losing them or having them stolen. If you are hiking or camping carry very little cash and always make copies of your license, passport, and other essential documentation.  

Beware Of Bears 

Canada is without a doubt known for their bears and they are extremely common throughout many Canadian national parks. These bears can extremely dangerous and unafraid to approach humans during the summer seasons. If you do happen to find yourself in one of the many national parks make sure that you don’t have any visible food products. In addition to this, if you are camping always make sure that you properly disposed of garbage and store all your food in the proper safety containers. This will not only keep your food safer and healthier for longer, but could potentially eliminate any unwanted bear incidents.
